Welcome to the Telecommunications and Technology
Providers Database (TELPOD).
What is it?
TELPOD is an online tool that tracks telecommunications
and technology providers in a region. It tracks existing
and planned telephone, Internet, data, computer networking,
and television services. The tool is easy to update.
Reports can be generated by community, county or by
provider.
Who uses it? Who needs it?
- Communities who are interested in improving their
use of technology for economic development and improved
quality of life. (The first task of any technology
initiative is to understand the levels of existing
services that are available to area businesses, organizations
and residents.)
- Telecommunications and technology providers assess
markets that are underserved, yet interested in telecommunications
services.
- Policy makers and community funding organizations
to gauge a communitys need for infrastructure
based the telecommunications assets of that community
compared with other communities in their region or
demographically similar communities in other areas.
Can I use it?
We currently have tracked various regions in Minnesota.
If you would like to gain access to these reports and
data, please contact Bill
Coleman.
How can I get this information for my region?
Community Technology Advisors works with states, cities,
regions, or communities to implement TELPOD for a defined
area. We will survey telecommunications and technology
providers in your area to assess their existing (and
planned) infrastructure, we will track that information
in TELPOD, and we will show you how to run reports or
searches for specific data.
For more information on TELPOD, contact Bill
Coleman.
