Dakota
County
Dakota Future has been going strong for several years now. Bill Coleman serves as Executive Director. Their annual meeting is always a hit, the web site remains popular for businesses looking to grow in and relocate to Dakota County. They are eagerly anticipating the growth of local company, Thomson.
Dakota Future is planning a Trade Mission to Ireland in the fall of 2007.
Minnesota
Rural Partners & Blandin
Bill
Coleman is community coach and leader of the "Get Broadband" project,
sponsored by the Blandin Foundation and hosted by Minnesota Rural
Partners. The project will help rural communities in Minnesota
to promote and support broadband use by local residents and businesses.
Eden Prairie
CTAC has been working with the Eden Prairie Technology Task Force to help them assess their current and future technology needs and strategies. The task force has been gathering information from businesses and plans tol expand that effort to get input from citizens before developing recommendations for the city council.
Todd
County
With
help from Community Technology Advisors, Todd County has completed
another industry cluster assessment. The healthcare assessment
is currently in draft form and will be available soon through
the web site.
East
Central
The
East Central has been surveying stakeholders in their community
about access to and application of broadband technology. They
have held 2 focus groups in each community to assess the currents
uses and requirements of telecommunications technology. They have
also surveyed technology providers, small businesses, government
agencies, and healthcare providers on their use.
The
goal is to complete a comprehensive assessment of currently uses
and future needs to help define gaps and to create a strategy
that will ensure that future technology plans meet the needs of
area residents and businesses.
